Radiowave donates Waterbottles

Water Bottles donated to Wheel-Ability Sports Club

In March, Radiowave is promoting the Wheel-Ability Sports Club in Katutura as its Charity of the month. Leading by example, we donated 20 much needed water bottles to the club.

Wheel-Ability is a basket ball club for wheel-chair users of all ages. It is based in Katutura at the Youth Center.

The club was founded in April 2012, by disability sports coach Michael Hamukwaya. The club has since grown in membership from 3 to 12 players. They meet once a week on Sundays for practice and are coached by a local Biokineticist Bjorn Magg.

All of the members are permanently wheel-chair bound and with this comes challenges such as transport, social acceptance and insecurity.

The team currently plays for fun, but they would love to expand and reach a competitive level.

For more information, see our Charity of the Month page.
