On Thursday 26 April, the Warehouse Theatre lights up the stage for the Portuguese band Senza in honour of the Portuguese Language Day.  Senza are musicians and travelers of the lusophony: from a crazy idea on a trip to southeast Asia, to concerts in New York, Beijing, Goa and Dili.

Presenting their second album, "Antes da Monção” (Portuguese for “Before The Monsoon”), based on their recent trip to India, which promises to inspire audiences with new stories portrayed in their songs. This new album features special guests Júlio Pereira, Rão Kyao and João Frade.

The tour of the album "Praia da Independência” (Portuguese for“Independence Beach”, and awarded by the national radio with the distinction "Disco ANTENA 1") had a huge success and carried the group across the world, performing on many stages. In just over a year and a half, they performed in cities like Goa, New York, Mumbai, Beijing, Dili, Washington D.C., New Delhi, and also in Europe (Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom, ending in Lisbon).

It was during a three month trip to Southeast Asia that the musicians formed the group and in this way permanently associated it with remote landscapes. They quickly went from the creative outburst, that led them to write the first songs on the southern shores of Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, to concerts all over the world.

The secret, they say, lies in the intensity they experience travelling and their dedication and passion for music.

Musicians and travelers, they record on their albums those passions, the places, the people and the experiences lived abroad.

Namibians can see Senza live on stage at the Warehouse Theatre Windhoek on Thursday 26 April at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Tickets for this Portuguese concert are N$100 in advance at / PayToday / Airtime City Kiosks / Warehouse Theatre. All welcome!

Senza is brought to you by the Embaixada de Portugal em Windhoek Embassy of Portugal Namibia, the Instituto Camões Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua and Centro Diogo Cão celebrating the Portuguese Language Day.
