24 July: The Rhino Project @ FNCC

French artist Gé Pelini will join forces with NAPHA, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the FNCC in the fight against poaching on the 24th of July at FNCC Terrace at 11h00

The Rhino Project will host Gé Pellini, a French artist, who is not just an animal sculptor, or a naturalist, but also one who analyses the quintessence of his subjects.

He will be sculpting in the finest Namibian marble, a heavy and inconvenient material, shaping the mighty rhinoceros in its own movements, enlarging the horns, drawing more flexible lines and eliminating the details. The final sculpture will be a live-size rhino.

The opening ceremony on Monday 24th of July at FNCC will be attended by the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Honorable Pohamba Shifeta. The sculpting session will last a month, during which the public is welcome to come around at the FNCC to witness the progress of the artist.

On the 31st of August, the sculpture will be auctioned during a gala dinner held at the Windhoek Country Club, along with other prizes, and all proceeds will go towards addressing anti-poaching initiatives.

Please invest in the future of our valuable wildlife by supporting this conservation and anti-poaching initiative!
